Where are the scarves produced and printed?
The scarves are made by a partner company in Italy (Como). The partner company is equipped with state-of-the-art printing machines and produces high-quality goods.
Here you can find more information about the production process: Read article.
What is the delivery time for scarves?
All scarves are individually made for you in Italy. Normally, a delivery time of approx. 3-5 weeks must be expected. This also applies to sample scarves and print samples. So plan enough time for your project – orders at short notice are not possible.
If the scarves are to be delivered at a specific time, the feasibility must be clarified in advance when the order has been precisely specified.
Note: production in Italy is always at a standstill during the entire month of August (summer break). Orders in July will be delivered in September.
I would like to have a print sample / sample scarf made first. Is that possible?
If you would like to have a larger number of pieces produced, it may be useful to have a print sample/sample scarf produced in order to check the result and make any necessary adjustments.
Print sample: A print sample is not a finished scarf in the final size, but a smaller pattern print on the chosen fabric with an excerptof the motif (max. width 140 cm). A print sample is charged at CHF 49.00 orEUR 49.00 (incl. VAT and shipping).
Sample scarf: Regular scarfs can be ordered as sample scarfs at the normal list price (the smallest possible number of each).
Are there minimum order quantities?
Yes, at least 10 scarves must be ordered per shopping cart/order. However, these can be different motifs, sizes and materials.
For example: 4 square scarves + 6 long scarves.
What is included in the unit price?
The unit prices include the raw material, textile printing, sewing on the label and packaging in a polybag.
There are no further costs.
How does the delivery of the scarves work?
Customers in Switzerlandare supplied directly by GetYourScarf from Zurich; dispatch in envelope or parcel, transported by Swiss Post.
Customers in Germanyand Austria(EU) are supplied directly from production in northern Italy by DHL. Shipping within the EU eliminates customs costs.
The price calculator automatically calculates the shipping costs for all countries.
What colour is the base fabric?
The unprinted base fabric is always white.
The motif is then applied to the base fabric using inkjet printing. Any “background colour” therefore does not come from the raw material, but must be integrated into your print template.
Are special colours like gold / UV / glitter possible?
No, all kinds of special colours and coatings are not possible.
Do the scarves come with a label? Is it possible to attach an individual label?
Scarves are provided with a standard label. See also Labels.
It is currently not possible to have individual labels produced directly via GetYourScarf.
However, your own labels can be sewn on if they are provided. For example, labels can be produced via Contrado. These are then sent to Italy to be sewn on.
Surcharge for sewing on your own fabric label: CHF 1 / EUR 1 per label. Surplus labels can be stored for future orders.
I don't know much about fabrics, how can I decide?
The fabricpage offers a good illustrated overview of all the fabrics on offer and their characteristics. You can also find more photos of finished scarves on the testimonialspage. If you would like to take a closer look at the different fabrics, GetYourScarf will be happy to send you a free sample folder.
In which sizes can I order scarves? Are special sizes possible?
On the scarf sizes page you will find an overview of the standard sizes of square and long scarves.
Special sizes are also possible, but the maximum width is approx. 140 cm; you are free in the length (several metres…). Scarves in special sizes are from 100 pcs. per motif offered. Please enquire directly with your request.
In which file format / color space / resolution must the print template be provided?
As file format you can easily deliver JPG, TIFF or PDF files. JPG files are compressed, i.e. lossy. Make sure that you save JPG files in the best compression level to minimise losses.
The colour space must be sRGB(Standard RGB).
Create print files with 1 cm bleed addition all around. This is used to roll the edges. A scarf with a final size of 90×90 is based on a file with 92×92.
The resolution of the print template must be as large as possible. 100 dpi or more are recommended; 50 dpi is the lower limit. Below 50 dpi the print becomes blurred and “pixelated”.
On the page for design information you will find a summary of everything important regarding resolution and design.
All data will be checked again by GetYourScarf before printing, so that you can be alerted to possible problems and a good solution can be found.
You can easily upload print files via an online storage service like Dropbox or WeTransfer.
What motifs and colors can be printed on a scarf?
Since the scarves are printed similar to a normal printer at home, there are no limits when designing a scarf. Everything is possible: texts, color areas, color gradients, graphic elements, etc. Photos can also be printed, of course. Printing is done in digital inkjet process on Monna Lisa printing machines.
How do I send you the file to be printed?
Simply send an e-mail to verkauf@getyourscarf.com – with the print file as an attachment.
If the file is larger than 10 MB (so in most cases…) it’s best to use a free online storage service like Dropbox or WeTransfer or Google Drive. The file will be uploaded there – by e-mail you then only have to send the corresponding link to the file and not the file itself.
Can color matching be done with my image file before printing?
Precise color matching/calibration – as is common in prepress on paper – is not possible with textiles.
It should be noted that colors can have different effects depending on the fabric. Some fabrics absorb more or less color, are more translucent or opaque, or have a slight sheen themselves (e.g. satin silk). These and other factors determine how the final result will look.
In order to check the colors accurately, it is necessary to work with a print sample / sample scarf.
Is it possible to order scarves with hand rolled edges or fringes?
Hand rolled edges:
All silk scarves are optionally available with hand-rolled edges. These are available at an additional cost. This step is carried out by skilled seamstresses by hand in the manufactory in Como. With hand rolled edges you give your silk scarf that special extra. Especially if you intend to resell the scarves, you can significantly increase the value of goods by hand-rolled edges and thus set the selling price higher.
Fringes:
Scarves made of modal/cashmere, St. Moritz 4, wool, cotton and Castellaro fabrics are available with fringes. Square scarves are fringed on all sides, while long scarves are fringed only on the narrow sides.
More information on this page.
Can I deliver my own fabric and have it printed?
Unfortunately it is not possible to provide own fabrics, because it is very difficult to judge and also to guarantee the print/color quality on foreign material. That is why GetYourScarf offers only the selected fabrics from its own product range.
I continue to sell the scarves. Will you give me discount as a reseller?
Most customers on GetYourScarf are resellers, so prices are already calculated accordingly.
Are the prices negotiable? Can you accommodate me a little bit?
The prices are calculated to be attractive even for small quantities. The goods are made in Italy and are of high quality, so they are not off-the-shelf products or “discount goods” from Far East. However, quantity discounts are given for various price scales.
Can production be accurate to a millimeter?
Textiles are “fluid” and cannot be printed to within a fraction of a millimeter like a piece of metal. A raw piece of fabric goes through many process steps until it becomes a finished scarf with your desired motif. When printing, fixing, washing out, cutting and sewing, there may be slight deviations, which are not noticeable by eye / disturbing but can be seen with a ruler. In any case, GetYourScarf strives to deliver the highest possible quality.
Will GetYourScarf take back a printed scarf if I don't like it?
Unfortunately not. Customers are responsible for their own print template/motif – that means if you don’t like it, scarves cannot be returned.
Please follow the design instructions so that your scarf can be made to your complete satisfaction. GetYourScarf checks all print templates manually to detect problems with resolution, format or colors before printing. In this case you will be personally informed to find a solution.
In the case of obvious technical defects (tears in the fabric, heavy stains…) scarves will of course be taken back and refunded.
Are the scarves colourfast?
Yes, after printing the scarves are washed out and then heat fixed.
Who does GetYourScarf deliver to?
GetYourScarf supplies printed scarves to clubs, artists/boutiques, companies/SMEs, distributors/retailers, individuals and anyone who would like to order personalized printed scarves.
How do I properly care a scarf?
Hand wash in lukewarm water with a little soap. Then lay out flat to dry.
You can find more information about care of silk scarves here.
Is the sample folder from GetYourScarf also available for purchase?
Sample folders from GetYourScarf are lent free of charge for about 1 month. If you would like to keep the folder for a longer project, you can purchase it at cost price of CHF 32.00, or EUR 29.00.
What are the payment terms?
For orders smaller than CHF 1000.00 or EUR 1000.00 the total amount is payable in advance. Orders are not triggered until payment is received.
For orders over CHF 1000.00 or EUR 1000.00, 70% of the total amount is to be paid in advance, 30% of the total amount is to be paid upon receipt of the goods within 10 days after delivery.
