Where are the scarves produced and printed?

The scarves are produced by a partner company in Italy (Como). The partner company is equipped with state-of-the-art printing machines and produces high-quality goods.

Here you can find more information about the production process: Read article.

How long is the delivery time for scarves?

All scarves are individually made for you in Italy. Under normal circumstances, delivery takes approximately 3–5 weeks. This also applies to sample scarves and strike-offs. Please allow enough time for your project – short-term orders are not possible.

If the scarves need to be delivered by a specific date, feasibility must be clarified in advance once the order has been fully specified.

Note: production in Italy is completely shut down during the entire month of August (summer break). Orders placed in July will be delivered in September.

I would like to have a sample scarf / strike-off made first. Is that possible?

If you are planning to produce a larger quantity, it may be useful to order a strike-off/sample scarf to review the result and make adjustments if necessary.

Strike-off: A strike-off is not a finished scarf in the final size, but a smaller sample print on the selected fabric with a section of the design (max. width 140 cm). A strike-off costs CHF 59.00 or EUR 59.00 (incl. VAT and shipping).

Sample scarf: Regular scarves can be ordered as sample scarves at the standard list price (minimum possible quantity).

Are there minimum order quantities?

Yes, each order must include at least 10 scarves. However, these can be different designs, sizes, and materials.

For example: 4 square scarves + 6 long scarves.

What is included in the unit price?

The unit prices include the raw material, textile printing, sewing on the label, and packaging in a polybag.

No additional costs apply.

How does the delivery of the scarves work?

Customers in Switzerland are supplied directly by GetYourScarf from Zurich; shipping is done via envelope or parcel, transported by Swiss Post.

Customers in Germany and Austria (EU) are supplied directly from production in Northern Italy via DHL. Shipping within the EU eliminates customs duties.

In the price calculator, shipping costs for all countries are calculated automatically.

What color is the base fabric?

The unprinted base fabric is always white.

The design is then applied to the base fabric using inkjet printing. Any background color does not come from the raw material and must be included in your print file.

Are special colors such as gold / UV / glitter possible?

No, all types of special colors and coatings are not possible.

Are the scarves provided with a label? Can a custom label be added?

Scarves are provided with a standard label. See also labels.

It is currently not possible to produce custom labels directly through GetYourScarf.

However, your own labels can be sewn on if they are provided. For example, labels can be produced via Contrado and then sent to Italy for sewing.

Additional cost for sewing on your own fabric label: approx. CHF 1.30 / EUR 1.30 per label. Excess labels can be stored for future orders.

I am not very familiar with fabrics – how can I decide?

The fabrics page provides a good illustrated overview of all available fabrics and their properties. You can also find more photos of finished scarves on the references page. If you would like to examine the fabrics more closely, GetYourScarf will be happy to send you a sample folder.

What sizes can I order scarves in? Are custom sizes possible?

On the scarf sizes page, you will find an overview of standard sizes for square and long scarves.

Custom sizes are also possible, but the maximum width is approx. 140 cm; length is flexible (several meters). Custom sizes are available from 100 pieces per design. Please contact us with your request.

In which file format / color space / resolution must the print file be provided?

You can easily provide your files in JPG, TIFF, or PDF format. JPG files are compressed (lossy), so make sure to save them at the highest quality setting.

The color space must be sRGB (standard RGB).

Create print files with a 1 cm bleed on all sides. This is used for rolling the edges. A scarf with a final size of 90×90 cm requires a file size of 92×92 cm.

The resolution of the print file should be as high as possible. 100 dpi or more is recommended; 50 dpi is the minimum. Below 50 dpi, the print will appear blurry and pixelated.

On the design tips page, you will find all important information about resolution and design summarized.

All files are checked again by GetYourScarf before printing, so that potential issues can be identified and resolved in advance.

You can easily upload print files via an online storage service such as Dropbox or WeTransfer.

What designs and colors can be printed on a scarf?

Since the scarves are printed similarly to a standard home printer, there are virtually no limits to the design. Anything is possible: text, color areas, gradients, graphic elements, etc. Photos can also be printed. Printing is done using digital inkjet technology on Monna Lisa printing machines.

How do I send you the print file?

Simply by email to verkauf@getyourscarf.com – with the print file attached.

If the file is larger than 10 MB (which is usually the case), it is best to use a free online storage service such as Dropbox, WeTransfer, or Google Drive. Upload the file there and send us the download link instead of the file itself.

Can color matching be done before printing?

Precise color matching/calibration – as commonly done in paper prepress – is not possible for textiles.

Please note that colors may appear differently depending on the fabric. Some fabrics absorb more or less color, are more or less transparent, or have a slight sheen (e.g. satin silk). These and other factors influence the final result.

To accurately check colors, a strike-off/sample scarf is required.

Can scarves be ordered with hand-rolled edges or fringes?

Hand-rolled edges:
All silk scarves are optionally available with hand-rolled edges at an additional cost. This process is carried out manually by experienced seamstresses in the workshop in Como. Hand-rolled edges give your silk scarf a premium finish and can significantly increase its resale value.

Fringes:
Scarves made from Modal/Cashmere, St. Moritz 4, wool, cotton, and Castellaro fabrics are available with fringes. For square scarves, all sides have fringes; for long scarves, only the short sides.

More information can be found on this page.

Can I provide my own fabric for printing?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide your own fabrics, as it is very difficult to assess and guarantee print and color quality on external materials. Therefore, GetYourScarf only offers selected fabrics from its own range.

I resell the scarves. Do you offer reseller discounts?

Most GetYourScarf customers are resellers, so prices are already calculated accordingly.

Are the prices negotiable? Can you offer a discount?

Prices are calculated to be attractive even for small quantities. The products are made in Italy and are of high quality, not mass-produced or discount goods from overseas. However, volume discounts are available for larger quantities.

Can production be done to the exact millimeter?

Textiles are flexible materials and cannot be processed with millimeter precision like metal. A piece of fabric goes through many process steps before becoming a finished scarf. Slight deviations may occur during printing, fixing, washing, cutting, and sewing. These are usually not noticeable to the eye but may be measurable. GetYourScarf always strives to deliver the highest possible quality.

Does GetYourScarf accept returns if I do not like the scarf?

Unfortunately not. Customers are responsible for their print design, meaning scarves cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction.

Please refer to the design tips to ensure your scarf meets your expectations. All print files are manually checked by GetYourScarf to identify potential issues in advance. You will be notified if any problems arise.

In the case of obvious technical defects (e.g. fabric damage, major stains), scarves will of course be accepted for return and refunded.

Are the scarves colorfast?

Yes, after printing the scarves are washed and then heat-fixed.

Who does GetYourScarf supply?

GetYourScarf supplies printed scarves to clubs, artists/boutiques, companies/SMEs, retailers, private individuals, and anyone who wants to order custom printed scarves.

How do I properly care for a scarf?

Hand wash in lukewarm water with a small amount of soap. Then lay flat to dry.

More information on caring for silk scarves can be found here.

Can the GetYourScarf sample folder be purchased?

Sample folders are loaned free of charge for approx. 1 month. If you would like to keep it for a longer project, you can purchase it at cost price for CHF 39.00 or EUR 39.00.

What are the payment terms?

For orders below CHF 1000.00 or EUR 1000.00, full prepayment is required. Orders are only processed after payment is received.

For orders above CHF 1000.00 or EUR 1000.00, 70% prepayment is required, with the remaining 30% payable within 10 days after delivery.

No discounts/deductions are granted.
