Scarves for artists: insight into a studio

GetYourScarf helps artists create custom scarves with their artwork. In this process, a motif designed by you is printed on a fabric of your choice. Usually the motif comes from a photograph of the work of art, for example, a painting or sculpture. This motif is then printed by inkjet (digital printing) onto the desired fabric. In this way, your works are brought to textile and thus accessible to a large segment of demanding customers. GetYourScarf helps you with all the steps to get from your artwork to a finished scarf. Produced in Italy (Como). This ensures the highest quality and gives them a high quality personalized accessory that sells well at art openings, art shows, boutiques or online.

How GetYourScarf works

The starting point for an art scarf is either a digital template (from Illustrator or Photoshop or another graphics program), or a photograph of the artwork. This is illustrated below as an example. On the left is the photographed painting. The artist chose the fabric St. Moritz 4 as the basic material for the scarf. The motif was then inkjet printed onto the fabric at the Italian manufactory. The finished scarf is shown in the center. On the right you can see the original picture with the scarf.

Motif choice

For digitally created motifs, the artwork comes directly from the graphics program as a PDF or image file (JPG, TIFF). For real works of art (paintings, sculptures, etc), a photo of them must be taken beforehand. Make sure you photograph the subject in as natural light as possible. Furthermore, it is important to create the photo with high resolution – to do this, set the camera to the best image quality. The better the photo, the sharper the print on the scarf.

Choice of size and fabric

GetYourScarf offers various silk and natural fabrics. All of them come without the addition of synthetic fiber or polyester. Depending on the motif, a different fabric will better accentuate your artwork. The choice of fabric is also influenced by the season in which you intend to wear or sell the scarf. On the page for fabrics you will get a good overview of the materials offered. In addition, GetYourScarf will provide you with a sample folder on loan or will be happy to advise you personally.
